Benjamin has served as an academic advisor, college educator, and career coach since 2011 and a mental health practitioner since 2018. He has been a 100% telehealth provider since 2020. Clinical specialties include adult assessment services, neurodivergence, adult career and education counseling, and telehealth services. Benjamin is an AuDHD provider.
Past leadership roles include Secretary for the Committee on Transfer & Articulation (CoTA - Missouri Department of Higher Education), Transfer & Articulation Officer for the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Assistant Director of Financial Aid for the University of Kansas, and Department Manager for the Office of Placement & Training at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology's Clinical PsyD Program. Rev. RJ brings with them a wealth of experience and skills to the Purple Wellness Counseling advisory board. A graduate of Johnson County Community College and the University of Kansas, they are trained as a cultural anthropologist. Rev. RJ is presently a living historian with an emphasis on European fiber arts of the 15th and 16th centuries.
In addition to their academic background, Rev. RJ has donated their time as a volunteer chaplain at the United States Disciplinary Barracks & Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary. At Leavenworth, Reverend RJ ministered to incarcerated pagans and wiccans.
